Headed down & back to San Fran

As we left our hotel to head back to the city, the boys only desire was to see more water.

So Nana navigated and Grumpaw drove where he was told and we winded our way back down the PCH to find a beach.

Jake had fallen asleep, so Raelynn & I waited in the car while Derek & Carsen went to check out Stinson Beach. (Grumpaw was a life guard there when he was a teenager) Unfortunately, the stop only lasted about 30 minutes because it was very windy & cold.

Our final tour in the trees was even more brief than the beach. We drove to the entrance of Muir Woods and then continued on toward the Golden Gate Bridge.

We braved the extreme wind on the long walk up the hill to get this great picture. Carsen was very afraid of heights and would not get anywhere near the edge for love nor money.

After we crossed the bridge we headed to South Sanfrancisco to tour my Dad's old stomping ground during his 8th - 10th grade years.

This was the school where he played football, water polo and swam, earning letters in each sport.

Next we headed to San Mateo where dad lived during his Jr and Sr years of high school. It was the favorite house of all the Rodgers-Willyerd children and their mother, or so I heard. Dad lived here until he left on his mission.

This is the church building they attended.

And this is Hillsdale High School where my Dad graduated from. He was not able to play sports here because when he went for his annual sports physical before his Junior year, they learned of his heart condition and would not allow him to play.

This was the conclusion of our tour and we headed back to Union City to get a little shut eye before our next adventure!
