Parents vs Kids Kickball

Today was Derek's last fall baseball practice.  The coach thought it would be fun for the parents to play a spirited game of kickball against the boys and their siblings.  Jake has been so excited to play all week.  He was counting down the days until he could wear cleats and play kickball like Randi.

The kids were pretty sure they could beat the old folks, but they started out pretty weak.

Derek's first kicking attempt was hilarious as he completely missed the ball.

His next shot was much better and he made it to first base.

After 3 easy outs, the parents were ready to show their skills.  Unfortunately, Anthony completely missed his first kick as well!  Like father, like son.

His next attempt was amazing and he kicked it way into right field.

The parents scored several runs before Carsen was up to the plate.  He kicked a couple fouls before he put the ball into play.

Jake had a great time out in the field with his brothers and did a great job kicking.  He made it to first base both times he kicked.

Of course we couldn't leave out our fourth son Brennan.  He was a great 3rd baseman and had some great kicks too.

One inning Derek got all three outs for his team.  3 up and 3 down.  The score was close and the parents were all getting a bit worried, but the parents pulled out all the stops!

The final score was 8-7 parents win!  boys take a lap!

Although I was too chicken to play(no doodlebugs allowed), I enjoyed watching through the camera lens!
