Derek in eighth grade

My big man on campus!

 

 

Derek is turning into a man right before my eyes!  This year he is wearing a men's medium clothes and size 9 shoes, weighing in at 125lbs.  At the start of 7th grade he was in a boys 10 and a size 5 shoe and weighed 90lbs.  I have bought a lot of clothes this year!  Derek is my outdoors man.  He does the very smallest amount of school work possible to pass with C's or better.  He loves to fish and hunt.  He walks down to the lake at the end of the street whenever he can to catch anything!  He had his first deer hunt this year, but didn't get one (oh darn).  He is beginning to carve his own baits, with a little saw help Papa Tony.  He is enjoying his new hobby.  Derek would love to work at Cabelas and be a fishing guide when he gets older.  Derek is also a great athlete.  He plays club baseball for the Enforcers.  His plays catcher mainly, but can play any other position that the coach puts him in (except pitcher).  He is hitting up a storm now that he has a little size behind him.  We hope he never stops because he is amazing to watch and we love it!
