This summer we discovered this cool zoo-type place in Williams Arizona.
It is basically a drive-through zoo with lots of interesting animals that live in the forest.
mountain goat
They live in larger cages in more of a natural setting. Each car gets a device that plugs in to the auxiliary port to share information about the animals.
bighorn sheep
dall sheep
donkey
Arctic wolf
American bison
American bison
adult black bears
We all loved the bears the most. They were exciting to watch as they walked around our car and even chased each other.
Once we finished the drive-thru portion, we parked and walked to the little gift shop. The boys each picked a small souvenirs, then we realized there were more animals to walk and see.
beaver
porcupine
river otters
bear cubs, less than 1 year old
We definitely loved the bear cubs most of all. We could have stayed and watched them for hours. They were so entertaining. They climbed and played and bugged one another, just like human children. We didn't want to look away incase they did something funny and new.
Carsen made funny noises through this crack and the bear cubs talked right back. They made all kinds of noises.
bobcat
teenage bears ( 1-2 years old)
We also enjoyed the middle-sized bears. They were less playful, but very curious about all the human staring at them!
I was just thankful for the big ravine between us and the bears. We finally drug ourselves away and headed back toward the heat of the valley.
