Cabin planning began about a year ago, purchasing a couple months ago and packing about a week ago. This morning we made our final preparations and began our journey. Mike & Randi, (pulling a trailer), Mom, Dad and Raelynn (pulling a trailer) and Bill, Billy & Sydney all caravaned up the I-17 North bound.
Robyn, the boys and I headed over to Costco and spent 60 minutes shopping, $700 dollars checking out and 30 minutes loading it all into the back of the Yukon and then began our trek North.
Two hours and 30 minutes later, we met up with the rest of the caravan.
They were all stopped and waiting for the snow plow to clear the road, so we all hung out for an hour or so before we could proceed, or so we thought. Mike and Bill had to dig Dad out of the snow a couple of times, and since we were all in a line, we all waited. That is except Mom and Billy who trudged through knee deep snow to get to the cabin and start shoveling the drive way!
Once we got onto the 1/4 mile driveway, we saw the beautiful cabin and everyone got giddy.
The kids were all so anxious to play in all the snow, so while we unloaded 2 trailers and 4 vehicle loads of stuff, we let them play.
The trip was long and exhausting, but once all the stuff was put away and the rest of the families trickled in throughout the evening, we knew all our hard work was worth it!
randi's post was better - but only becuase i got more details out of hers but it looks really fun - glad you guys all got to go!
