Grumpaw and Nana wanted to take us to Old Town. Once we arrived Anthony was so intrigued with this tree. It had the most interesting bark. Grumpaw said it was a cork tree and sure enough when we touched it, it was squishy. So cool.
We took the tour of the town and learned about the Indians and Spaniards that first inhabited the area. We learned about the adobe homes they made and a little bit about their life styles.

Our next tour was at the Mormon Battalion.
Once inside they had a very interactive tour that took us on the same journey that the battalion took 2000 miles across the US. Billy was able to dress up like a soldier as they told us about the uniforms, or lack there of, that the soldiers were given, as they chose to send their uniform money to their families to head west.
The most exciting part of the town was the old fashioned candy store. They were making homemade taffy and homemade fudge! Grumpaw let us go in and each fill a small bag of candy. YUM!
