Each year we celebrate Christmas with the Richards' family on Christmas Eve.
This year we had a huge dinner buffet that included lasagna, meatball subs, chicken wings, fruit & dip, veggies and dip, cheese and crackers, cheese artichoke dip with chips and a plethora of desserts including my delicious pumpkin roll.
After dinner the kids were excited just to be together and play. And play they did, out in the garage on the bouncer. They had a ball, until the girls decided that the boys were too crazy. I had to agree.
Our next activity of the night was opening presents.
The boys all got lots of nice gifts from the Flesher's and Nana and Papa Richards.
About 8:30 pm we headed home to read from the Bible about the birth of Jesus Christ, and talk about the real meaning of Christmas before too many gifts were opened.
The boys enjoyed talking about all the signs of the season. We then sang a few Christmas Carols while I played them on my new piano. Hopefully next year I will have a little more practice under my belt and it won't sound quite as bad. Before we headed to bed we drank cocoa while we fixed a plate of cookies for Santa and left sparkling oats for the reindeer.
The boys were tucked into their beds and were fast asleep by 11 pm, just before Santa's spectacular arrival!
