This weekend was Arrowhead Little League's Opening Day
The boys were all excited as they got dressed for pictures, with their teams, in their new uniforms.
Jake was the most excited! He didn't even mind his thigh-hi socks.
Carsen and Jake are on the same team again this season. They are on the "Thunder".
We have high hopes for the team this year as all the players on the team are returning and they have been playing together now for many seasons. We love our coaches Brain, Faron and Nick. They are all great!
We played a one inning game and all the boys hit and fielded perfectly!
After pictures the kids marched in a parade and proudly carried the team banners.
Derek spent all day at the ball park with his friends, avoiding his parents, except when he needed snack bar funds. He is now playing in the Big Leagues on the Majors team the "Pirates".
After the parade there was the National Anthem, first pitch and a big pep talk for the boys from former Diamondback Todd Stoudemire.
The kids all had a great time until we went home and crashed until Derek's game that evening. Derek hurt his thumb in preseason practice so he was only able to bunt, but he did great and even scored a run! Here is to a long, fun season living at the baseball park. Eating dinner at the concession stand. Hot dogs, pretzels, nachos, and any other junk the kids can get their hands on!
