Cash for Cans

My boys wanted to "earn" some money to put on our "crusie fund" savings jar at home.  Papa Tony gave Derek the idea to save aluminum cans and then cash them in.

The first time we took a bag or two in the boys were disappointed.  They had two big bags of uncrushed cans and received $2.15.

The boys wanted to try harder and have a bigger return, so they have been great at trying to save all the cans and even roped Randi into helping.  She saves all the cans from their house and when she was working, she even snagged all the cans from there too.

Our second round yielded more money on the return, but we were jipped!  The machine broke about halfway through.  It counted $4.00 worth of cans and then gave us an error message.  We had to load all our dirty cans back into our torn bags.  The cans that were already down in the machine had to be left there...uncounted.

We took our $4.00 in quarters, our remaining cans and headed home.  The boys placed the quarters in our savings jar and hoped to do even better next time.
