Character Counts

At the boy's school, Legend Springs, they have a program called Character Counts.  The children learn about the pillars of good character and then each month each teacher nominates one student to be the "Kid of Character". 

Just before Christmas Jake received this special award from his Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Barbee.  She said he is such a nice student.  He is always helpful and kind to others.  Part of the reward is receiving this school mascot in the form of a stuffed animal.  It changes from a leopard to a ball.  Jake was very excited to get this award.   In fact, the day he was making his gingerbread house with his buddy, with a 102 degree fever, all he was concerned about was how he was going to get his Leopard.  Unfortunately, he had to wait until after Christmas Break to get it.  He has slept with it ever since.
