The Stary Sombrero

Every year for the Cub Scout Blue & Gold Banquet, our troop asks the boys to each make a cake that goes along with the "theme".  This year the theme was FIESTA!  So, for Carsen's first year cake he decided to make a Mexican hat, called a Sombrero.

Nana picked him up a week before the cake was needed and she led him through the cake making process.  Carsen did all work himself to make the cakes.  Nana then froze the cakes to be decorated the following week.

Two days before pack meeting, Carsen went to Nana's and began to decorate the cakes.  He did all the decorating himself.  He transformed a couple of cakes into his masterpiece:  "The Stary Sombrero"

Carsen did a great job.  It was the best looking cake by far.  All the kids wanted to eat it and all the adults commented on how amazing it was.  Carsen won the award for the "Best Piping".  Carsen is so talented in so many areas.  We are always so impressed by the things he makes.  Grumpaw even called Carsen when he got home from his meeting to tell him that he was amazed and impressed with his cake.

We can't wait until next year to see what he makes next!
