Pine Wood Derby 2012

Well, it was that time of year again.  In a house full of boys, we are sure to hit the Derby for 9 years in a row.  That is a decade of Cub Scouts.  Wow!  We are just glad we have Grumpaw to help us because we would be lost without him!

Now that Nana and Grumpaw are on a mission for the church, they are busy Monday through Thursday from 8-5 and Fridays until noon.  So we scheduled a time in Grumpaw's busy schedule for Carsen to go and work in the shop.  They shaped and painted that block of wood into a beautiful, aerodynamic vehicle.

The car this year was named, "Gold Lightening".  And it was as fast as it sounds. 

Jake made himself comfortable to watch the entire race.

Carsen had a great time cheering for all his follow Scouts!  In the end, the race timer didn't work and the winners were unknown, which is totally okay.

I am so glad that my boys have an awesome Grumpaw that loves them and helps them no matter how busy or tired he is.
