This year Margene and I thought we were so smart when we bought 1/2 price Groupons for the Pumpkin Patch. That was a great idea, until October started to race away from us. We planned a date and then there was baseball practice, a baseball game, school, babysitting Cody, piano lessons, hair cuts, and everything else in life that gets in the way. But we didn't let that stop us. We found a way to be diligent and get to the pumpkin patch.
After Jake's 8 am baseball game, during Brennan's missed baseball practice, and before Derek's baseball tournament and the church's trunk or treat, we drove over to MacCormick Ranch in Scottsdale for our Pumpkin Patch Fun.
Jake is still young enough to genuinely want to be there for the experience and Carsen complained, a lot. After a good, stern talking too, he straightened up and we found a few fun things to do.
The boys enjoyed the petting zoo...
a few cowboy games...
a large blow up slide....

And eventually the hayride out to the pumpkin patch.
Carsen picked a very perfect medium pumpkin with an awesome stem.
Jake picked the biggest pumpkin he could find, even though his mother had to carry it for him. Luckily she has some very useful hips!
Margene and I enjoyed the beautiful weather and cool breeze, once all the boys were content with their activities.
When we got home, Randi volunteered to make Jake part of her family pumpkin patch outing for the next few years, because surely he shouldn't miss out because his brothers are Pumpkin Patch Scrooges.
