Sea World 2014

While living in San Diego this summer, Jake, Carsen and I were able to go with Kristi, Ryan, Randi, Mike and Cody to Sea World.  Nick and Derek stayed at the beach house so they could spend the day fishing on the pier.

Carsen was super excited to see the next hands on exhibit that had been on commercials for months.

The area was pretty cool. The first creature that we could get up close and personal with was Cleaner Fish.  Those little suckers literally swam up and sucked on our hand.

The kids all liked it,

but I did not like it.

It felt so weird and grossed me out!

Randi didn't mind I guess.

Cody wasn't sure what to think of the little fish and I don't blame him.

We were also able to pet different rays and sharks.

After the fish, I just took pictures.

Next we had a super neat and new experience of dining with

Shamu.  It was pretty cool, but they didn't explain the sequence of events very well.  We all filled our plates, buffet style, but while we were they started a special Shamu show.  That only lasted 10-15 minutes and then it was over.  We missed part of it and were eating and getting cold food during the rest.  We should have just waited to eat until the show was over, but who knew?  Next time...

It was cool to see the animals so close.

After lunch we headed to the Stingray rollercoaster.  The line was pretty short so we got right on.  Kristi took the kids for a second round and the line was very long, almost an hour wait!  While we waited we charged our phones and sat in the shade while Cody napped.

The next ride the boys wanted to do was the water ride.  Kristi was kind enough to take the boys again and I waited for the perfect pictures.

We saw lots of other animals, but another favorite was the dolphins.  We got there at play time and they were sure playful.  The kids loved watching them interact with people and we got up very close!

We made it so see all the animals, but none of the shows before we were too tired to walk any farther.

Each of the kids picked a souvenier before we headed back to the car.  Luckily we were smart and paid a little extra for priority parking.  We were just a row away!  Randi and Mike went back a couple days later with the boys to see the shows.  They took Hayden too and had a fun time.
