A few months ago I asked Randi if she wanted to go to California to visit Kristi and to go to Disneyland for Mickey's Trick or Treat Party. She was super excited do we figured out a weekend that worked for everyone, bought out tickets for the party, and waited. I also thought it would be super fun to invite Brooklyn to come spend her fall break with us.
The day finally came to leave, and we were ALL excited. We left a couple hours earlier than expected, but got stuck on I-10 for a couple hours because of a horrific collision. We ended up not getting in until after midnight…Blip only slept for about 45 minutes in the car, but he was way too excited to sleep when we arrived, so he didn't go back to sleep until about 2am.
The alarm to get up for California Adventure went off around 6am. I was a little nervous our day would be awful because the boys had only had four hours of sleep. To my happy surprise they did awesome.
After arriving at the park my boys wanted to head straight to Scream. They love that roller coaster. We only made it to one ride before the kids were hungry. Randi and Kristi took the kids to eat while Brooklyn and I went on the Toy Story Mania Ride. I love that ride and she hadn't been on it before. We had a great time, although she did end up beating me.
After lunch we put on our ponchos and headed for the water ride, but the line was ridiculous, so while we waited for our fast passes, the kids played in the outdoor "Up" Wilderness Explorer area. They had a blast!
Brooklyn was amazing and took all the boys on a few things we didn't want to.
We rode the trolley a couple times from the front to the back of the park.
We watched the awesome Pixar parade and enjoyed the rest!
While Blip napped, we headed to Cars Land.
Kristi had the idea of giving poor Brooklyn a heart attack and me a good laugh! Is this considered a photo bomb?
For dinner we headed to Downtown Disney to eat at the Mexican Food Place. The food was good, the sitting was great and the boys all got balloon animals. Carsen chose a shark, Jake chose a fire-breathing dragon, and Cody got Nemo.
After dinner we headed back into the park and got ready for World of Color. It was my boys first time seeing it. I love World of Color…and now there's even more reason to love it. We got to be super close this time. My boys wore ponchos and stood up right against the railing. Randi put Cody on her shoulders so he could see the whole show. They were all mesmerized by all the lights, water, fire, music, and pieces of the movies shown. I loved the magic before having my own kiddo, but seeing and hearing their excitement and love for the magic as they experience it all makes it even better. And more magical. I absolutely LOVE it.
All the way up to the tram out to the garage the boys were all angels. Absolutely perfect! Not a complaint about walking, being tired or whining.
We headed back to Kristi and Doug's after World of Color ended.
The next morning (Friday) we all slept in and then spent the majority of the day lounging around with Kristi. We didn't have to leave until Ryan was home from school, so Cody even got a nap in his bed. We all got ready for Disneyland, and the boys were ready for costumes when we left.
We were allowed to enter the park at 4pm, but the party didn't start until 7pm. At 7pm everyone without a wristband for the trick or treat party had to leave the park. We planned to be there right at 4pm, but traffic was AWFUL. We didn't get into the park until just before 6pm. It wasn't anyone's fault, but I think we were all disappointed to miss those two hours. It was our only day to be at Disneyland and our time as very rushed.
Once in the park I took everyone that could ride all the rides headed to Thunder Mountain to meet with Rachel, and her family. We were able to talk and catch up while riding a few rides. CJ took the kids on Thunder Mountain. Next we headed to Matterhorn and Kolbi and Ace decided that I was ok so they stayed with me and Kristi while Rachel and CJ took the boys on the ride. At 2 minutes until 7, CJ ran with the boys to ride space mountain. It was perfect! While they rode, the little kids danced!
We had so much fun! We ended up at a Monster's University dance party…Cody, Kolbi and Ace danced and danced and danced.
We went on the rockets, Buzz Lightyear, and did some trick or treating. Dur to due constraints I took all the boys on Autopia with Brooklyn and then we rode the train to meet Randi and Kristi in New Orlean's Square. We snacked on Mint Julep and Mickey shaped beignets…and then we went on Pirates.
There was more fun to be had, but mostly by the boys…they got to ride Thunder Mountain several times with little to no wait.
Anywho…we had such a good time, but it was time to head back to Kristi's for the night. It was a long drive back, but we all had a great time!
