Spring Training with the Padres

During Spring break we took the boys to a Padres Spring Training game at Peoria Stadium.

We got there early so Derek would have plenty of time to get autographs. He ended up with about 10 autographs on his hat and on a baseball. He watched the entire game very intently. Not to get pointers, but to catch foul balls.

Carsen, on the other hand was super excited to buy cotton candy from the mobile vendors. He would have spent all of his money if I would have let him.

And then there was Jake. He wrote, talked, ate and looked through the binoculars at bats (the flying kind), birds, people and anything else he could make out.

The game lasted 3 long hours and we stayed the whole time. Derek was insistent. His persistence paid off, because he was thrown the game winning ball after the fat lady had sung!
