This is the place...

On our first full day in Utah, Nana Carlys, Suzanne and I took the boys to "This is the Place" state park.

The park in a memorial in the place where Brigham Young came into the Salt Lake Valley and said, "This is the Place" that I saw in a vision. 

The boys wanted to check out the gift shop before the rest of the park.  Jake was intrigued with the replica of the town that a train went around.  It was fun to watch. 

Once we finished in the gift shop, we headed out to tour the town.

We rode a train around the city and then stopped when we found some fun activities.  We learned about money from that period.

The boys played some pioneer games.

Next we headed over to pan for gold. 

Once the boys got rich, we headed over to ride a small train around the pond.

It was 95 degrees and we were pretty hot, so our last activity was the small farm.  The boys were able to ride a horse and feed a variety of animals.

We had a great time in the pioneer town.
