The rest of the week at the beach was perfect. It was sunny and warm(ish) during the day and cool and quiet at night. I walked down to the water a couple times, but mostly sat on the patio, played in my iPad and read.
Randi was only 1 house away, but we didn't spend every waking second together because we both had our family's needs to attend to as well.
The boys absolutely adore their cousin and we were happy to have him there to play with in between nap times.
Anthony spent his time watching the boys play on the beach, napping, and playing games on the iPad.
The boys week was spent just enjoying the life of a beach bum.
They all played in the water and sand to their little hearts content.
Every time Jake got cold, he came in and took a bath. This is him listening to the ocean on his "shell phone" He liked to call and listen to the ocean while he has away.
The younger boys enjoyed the weekly farmer's market. They have the best corn on the cob!
They also enjoyed frequent trip to Bibbi's sea shell shop to look for souvenirs from the beach. I was done in 5 minutes and they could have inspected every item on the store, every single day.
Derek spent lots of time fishing. Some alone, some with Uncle Mike and lots with his brothers.
(The above pictures are off Derek's phone because his mother refuses to go out to the Pier while he fishes, so I have no idea what the stories are behind the pictures. oops. sorry.)
The moral of the story is that we all had fun and absolutely hated to leave. Every year as we drive away from the beach I hate to watch the outside temperature gage rise from 72 to 122.
But I am thankful that my boys are able to make these awesome memories. They look forward to this week in heaven all year long. We have been so blessed.
