This last spring Jake played Little League baseball on the Lugnuts. The kids on his team are the same boys that he has played with for the last 3 seasons and of course our favorite Coach Brian.
Opening Day/ Picture Day was freezing, but luckily we had Lamar to hangout with!
Jake's team all practiced hard and made great improvements! They all look like real ball players.
Defensively they were making multiple outs in the field every inning.
Offensively, their bats were amazing! Jake had some huge hits all the way to the grass!
After lots of the games the team challenged their opponent to a relay race. One team started at home plate and the other at second base. The 2 teams ran the bases while carrying a baseball. After one lap around, they would hand off the ball. It was really fun to watch them all run their hearts out while we cheered our hearts out.
At the end of the year party, Coach Brian got all choked up over the thought of not having Jake on his team next season. We will see if we are ready to move up to kid-pitch or want to stay in our little safety net one more season! We will miss him and our team so much when we go!
