Carsen's choice was panning for gold and gems at Big Thunder Gold Mine.
We learned how to pan for gems in the big blue strainer. The kids were given a brochure that listed gemstones and minerals from around the world. There was also a list of rocks and fossils that could be collected as well.
We left with a bag of undetermined rocks/gems and a vile with 2 flecks of gold.
